Privacy policy
How we process your personal data and that of students, in accordance with Costa Rica’s Law 8968 (Ley 8968).

What data we process
- Teacher or institution account data (name, email, national ID, institution).
- Academic data the teacher records (attendance, grades, lesson plans).
- Contact data of linked parents and students.
What we use it for
To provide the service: managing the classroom, communicating with families and generating pedagogical instruments. We do not sell your data or use it for third-party advertising.
Minors
Processing the data of minor students requires the explicit consent of the guardian, in accordance with Law 8968 (Ley 8968) and APRODHAB regulations.
Artificial intelligence
Before sending any information to an AI model, we redact personally identifiable information (PII). Every interaction is audited.
Security
Data encrypted in transit and at rest. An audit log records every access to sensitive data.
Your rights
You may request access, rectification, deletion or objection regarding your data by writing to privacidad@acdemic.com. Learn more on our page about Law 8968 (Ley 8968).
Account deletion and retention
You can delete your account at any time from the app (Profile → Delete my account) or from our account deletion page. When you do, we anonymize your personal data immediately. We keep the associated academic records (anonymized) because they belong to the educational institution, along with records the law requires us to retain.
