Terms and conditions

The rules for using ACDEMIC. By creating an account or using the platform, you accept these terms.

Last updated: June 2026.

1. The service

ACDEMIC is an educational platform for teachers, schools and families in Costa Rica, aligned with the MEP. It includes lesson planning, attendance, grading, family communication and the KADE assistant.

2. Accounts and roles

There are teacher, institution, parent and student roles. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for the activity on your account.

Identity verification. When you register, we may verify your identity document automatically when possible. If it cannot be verified that way —for example, minors, residents, refugees or foreign nationals—, you can complete registration by declaring your data under your responsibility. In doing so, you declare that the identity documents entered —yours and, if you register a minor in your care, that person’s— are official and that the data is truthful. Identity impersonation or entering false information may result in legal liability and account suspension.

3. Plans and payments

Only those who provide education pay (the teacher or the institution). Current plans and prices are published on the plans page. The founder cohort price is honored for life under the published conditions. Families have free access.

4. Acceptable use

You may not use ACDEMIC for unlawful purposes, to compromise third-party data, or to attempt to bypass security controls. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that breach these terms.

5. AI-generated content (KADE)

KADE is an assistance tool: it generates drafts and suggestions from versioned pedagogical templates, not final products or professional advice. Like any artificial intelligence, it can produce errors, inaccuracies, bias or content that does not fully match MEP guidelines, the study program or the reality of your classroom.

All content generated with KADE must be reviewed, validated and adapted by the teacher before any use. The teacher is solely responsible for verifying its accuracy, pedagogical relevance, curricular and regulatory compliance (MEP / REAC 2026) and its suitability before using, publishing, grading with or applying it to students. The professional judgment and final decision are always the teacher's or the institution's, not ACDEMIC's or KADE's.

KADE usage is subject to monthly limits based on the teacher's plan (text generations, images and written tests). Limits reset at the start of each month and the current values are published on the plans page. ACDEMIC may adjust these limits to protect the quality, margin and availability of the service, giving reasonable advance notice of changes.

KADE is provided "as is", without warranty of accuracy, completeness or fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, ACDEMIC shall not be liable for the decisions, grades, materials, omissions, damages or consequences arising from the use or misuse of AI-generated content, which rest solely with the teacher or institution using it. Using KADE implies acceptance of this condition.

6. Intellectual property

The content you create is yours. The platform, its code and its brand belong to ACDEMIC.

7. Warranties and limitation of liability

ACDEMIC is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free. To the maximum extent permitted by Costa Rican law, ACDEMIC shall not be liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from the use of the platform, nor for the breach of obligations that correspond to the teacher or institution towards the MEP, families, students or third parties. Nothing in these terms excludes liabilities that cannot be limited by law.

8. Changes

We may update these terms. We will notify you of relevant changes with reasonable advance notice.
